During my third year of University I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to work with talented glass artist Amanda Simmons. This placement was part of the Modern Heritage Craft scheme in Dumfries and Galloway.

 

This time really opened up doors for me in terms of understanding the possibilities within glass. I was so fascinated by the material that I decided to base my project on the fluidity and water like composition of glass. I wanted the pieces to celebrate their material and experimented with water like surface effects like bubbles, rain drops and ripples.
